thought I’d share a quick recipe with you today as this is one of my favourites!
– 350g self raising flour
– 85g butter
– 1/4 tsp salt
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 3 tbsp caster sugar
– squeeze of lemon juice
– 175ml milk
1- mix the flour, salt and baking powder together. Add in the butter and rub it together with your fingers. Then stir in the sugar.
2- heat up the milk either in the microwave ( 30 seconds ) or on the stove. Then add the vanilla and lemon juice. Then put your baking sheet in the oven.
3- make a well in the dry mix and add the milk mix. Mix them together using a cutlery knife.
4- scatter some flour onto a work surface and roll out your dough. Using a cutter, cut out your scones until there’s no mixture left.
5- take your baking sheet out of the oven and place your scones on to it.
6- bake for 10 minutes until golden brown.
Enjoy warm with jam, cream and tea!
