Wish List | EG

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have a lovely day! Today I have my wish list for you, which I’m excited to show you because there are some really lovely things in there.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Palette

First of all, I saw this gorgeous eyeshadow palette from tarte. I’m not sure where I first saw this palette, but when I did I fell in love with it. The colours are really versatile and there are so many you could match together. The price of this palette depends on where you buy it from. On QVC it is around £32.

Topshop Moto Cord Jacket

This jacket is gorgeous! It’s a champagne kind of colour, which is good because it’s neautral and would go with so many outfits. This is actually in the sale for £10!! Yes that is true! Sadly, this is out of stock so I’m scouring the Internet to find one!

Topshop Mom Jeans

When I went to Outfit recently I tried these jeans on and they were so comfortable and flattering. They are meant to be cropped, so I would get them in a longer length. Usually I would be leg 34, but I would get leg 36 so they would be longer. These jeans would be great for summer because they are not super tight, and would look great with a cropped top or a halterneck.

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Chihuahua

This lipstick is so pretty! I’ve seen these floating around Instagram so many times and I love this shade. It is a pinky brown colour and would look great with a neutral eyeshadow. For £16, I do think you’re getting a good product and I think it is a reasonable price for a too faced product, especially one with such great reviews.

Have you guys got any wishes?

Have a lovely day! ( and Easter! )

My Three Favourite Palettes | EG

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely day! Recently, I’ve realised that I’ve been doi a lot of posts about makeup, and now I have another one! This week, I’m going to show you my three favourite drugstore eyeshadow palettes. All of these are great for everyday use, or even for going out.

My first favourite is the Ted Baker Rose Gold Trio. This came in a gift set at Christmas so the only place I can find it is on eBay. There are many people selling these, mostly because they were exclusive to this set.

This trio is absolutely gorgeous! It includes three shades, which don’t have names, but I would say they are all kind of a sunset colour. They aren’t matte, but they don’t have that super glittery look, making them very subtle. These are the most pigmented eye shadows I own. They blend really nice, especially with other matte shades.

My favourite thing about this trio is the packaging. I mean look at it! Rose gold, a bloggers dream. It also has a big mirror on the lid, which is really useful for on the go. The packaging is metal, which is really sturdy and great to put in your bag.

My next favourite is the W7 In The Nude palette. During December last year, I went to the clothes show, and all of the w7’s products were 3 for £10. I was luckily enough to pick up this palette, In The Buff and The Cheeky Trio. I love the packaging of this as it is durable and very neautral.

My favourite shades are the matte ones, especially since having green eyes, pink makes them really stand out. I find that the shadows aren’t very pigmented, but are quite build able. Also, this palette is a dupe for the Naked 3 palette!

This is my favourite eyeshadow palette. This is the Barry M Natural Glow Palette 2. It has 6 shadows and a primer. The primer, I have to admit, is terrible. It’s flakey and doesn’t blend at all. But the rest of the palette, oh my gosh! The colours are so pretty and blend able. I use the shimmery colour as a highlight on my cheekbones and have had so many compliments. I love to use the third shade and blend it with the grey. Then I use the lightest colour to define my brows. This palette is very versatile, and extremely affordable.

I really enjoy using Barry Ms products because they are cruelty free. Many brands aren’t, and I’m really trying to use cruelty free brands as I don’t see any need for animal testing.

This palette is very compact and also has a mirror on the lid. This would also be great for travelling and topping up either your highlight, eyeshadow or defining your brows.

Have you guys got a favourite palette?

Have a lovely day!

Haul | EG

Over the past few weeks,I have spent alot of money. I did earn it all myself, so is there really any problem? Personally, I love shopping and looking at the newest things in, whether it be makeup, home or clothes.
Here’s a few of the things I’ve purchased over the last few weeks.

First, I’ve got to start off with my favourite purchase. I’ve been looking at Real Techniques brushes ever since I’ve got in to makeup. Most people dream of having five, and luckily I was able to get my hands on the deluxe gift set. I purchased this from tk maxx, which I actually think is my new favourite shop. These cost me just £20.99!  One of these brushes usually sells for around £15-25, so I knew I had to get these when I saw them. My favourite brush is the tapered foundation brush. I also really enjoy using the angled highlighter brush.

Another beauty item that I bought is the Barry M Flawless Colour Correctiong Primer. This is my dream primer. It claims to correct redness, smooth and mattify skin and minimise pores. I can tell you that it does all of this! I used it today and my skin had no redness and my makeup stayed matte all day. This cost me £4.99 ( I think ) and was buy one get one half price, so I also picked up a nail varnish.

The next thing I purchased was from Primark. Since its started to become sunnier I decided I would buy some more Spring tops. I picked this up for around £6 and it is a knitted tank top. It has a high square neck with thin straps and is kind of ribbed. The pattern is really pretty and the burgundy colour look great with a denim skirt or shorts.

The next thing I am extremely excited about. I think most people have heard of Brandy Melville. They sell the kind of clothes you would see on tumblr or on a polyvore board. These knitted tops from Primark are dupes for the Brandy ones and were only £6 each? I got a white and a dark grey, but they also had a striped one. These are really cute and would look great with some shorts. They are thick knitted, which means they will still keep you warm even though they are sleeveless.

Have you guys bought anything you love recently?

Have a lovely day!

Nails that won’t let you down | EG

We all know the story, one shower and your nails are chipped, they begin to crack and the nail varnish fades after a few days. Being extremely interested in nails and nail art, I like to buy products that last and when I saw the Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Polish (what a mouthful) I knew I had to try it.

Barry M is a great brand. The makeup is fantastic, and so are the nail polishes- and I’m yet to try their new primers. Barry M – from what I’ve been told – do not test on animals, which is an extreme positive as many brands, including makeup giant MAC ( who are notorious for this ) do test on animals.

I own three of the nail polishes and they are all fantastic. My favourite is dark side of the shroom which is a mauve colour. I also own do you pink I’m sexy and vengeance is wine. The polishes themselves are extremely pigmented and build able. One coat of the darker shades is all you’d need, unless you want a really deep colour

The brush of the polishes is wide so you can paint your whole and nail without covering your fingers in it. The packaging is also gorgeous- rose gold packaging anyone?

The showstopper is the top coat. Oh my gosh I’ve never used one that is so good. Barry M does make the best nail polishes, mine usually last for a week or two. This topcoat makes your nails look like gels. At first I thought ” No that’s not possible ” but now it’s a whole other story! My nail polish stays for up to 2 weeks- without chips and the only reason I have to remove it is because it’s grown down so far.

My favourite thing is the range of colours. There are bright colours, muted nudes and dark reds. Whatever colour your looking for, this range will most likely have it.

I would definately recommend buying these polishes, especially as they are usually part of a deal in a range of shops!

Have a lovely day!

February Favourites | EG

It seems like every month seems to be going quicker. I’ve really enjoyed February – what with it being pancake day. I’ve recently got more into make up and bought a few pieces that I’ve enjoyed using a lot.

The first thing I bought that I’ve been using daily is this Stila stay all day primer and anti-shine balm. This claims to prime, set and mattify makeup. This retails at around £21 but I got it for just £4.99 at tk maxx! I do recommend pushing the sponge into the primer instead of swiping it over it, and then patting it onto your face instead of rubbing it in. I then put my makeup on and use the sponge and set my makeup. My makeup really does stay matte all day when I use this & I would recommend it.

This Avon BB cream is moisturising, but still has medium coverage. Since I have freckles, I don’t want to completely cover them up. This cream covers up any redness or blemishes. I have tried using foundation, but it creates a streaky effect on my skin so I’ve found that BB cream is a lot better.

So many bloggers, and friends have raved about the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer for a while and I was yet to try it out until earlier this month. I’m the shade fair 1, which is perfect for my skin tone. This concealer has such a good coverage and really brightens up under my eyes and around my face. I always put it in a triangle to prevent a really bright circle under my eyes too.

Adidas superstars. Worn by countless bloggers and fashion youtubers everywhere. Honestly, these are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever bought. Luckily I’m a size 6 so I was able to get them in the kids section ( ha ha ). Also, when you sign up to Adidas you get 15% off so I ended up paying £38 for them. They go with everything and and so so comfy, I would recommend them to anyone.

The last thing is my Jamie jeans from Topshop. After buying many pairs of Primarks rule of the Joni jeans and struggling into New Looks high waisted jeans, I caved and bought some topshop jeans. Since I’m so tall, finding jeans that fit my leg was a hard job. Topshop have a huge range of jeans that don’t loose shape, stretch or sag. These are my best purchase and are such a staple piece in my wardrobe.

What are your guys favourites this month?

Have a lovely day!

High Street vs High End : Highlighters | EG

Today I have a post about something that has suddenly taken over the makeup world: highlighters. Whether it’s contouring, strobing or perfecting your brows, highlighters seem to be the finishing touch. For Christmas I received a small high beam by benefit. I also purchased Asdas highlight and define  for around £2-3- a fraction of the cost of any of Benefits products.

More well known to beauty bloggers, is benefits high beam. Used by countless youtubers and endless bloggers, everyone seems to love it. My favourite thing about it is the colour. The glitter in it is very fine and is not obvious.

This is Asdas highlight and define, a much bigger product for a lot less money. This blends really well and gives a lovely shimmer.

So how do they compare?

On the top right is Asda and the bottom left if benefit. You can see that they have very similar consistency and very fine shimmer to them. However, Asdas is a little darker whereas Benefits is more of a baby pink.

Highlight and define has a small lip gloss like wand. This makes application extremely easy and build able. High Beam has a kind of nail varnish brush to apply the product with, which can be difficult, but the brush is soft which is really nice.

As you can see, high beam is a lot less creamy than highlight and define. Both apply quite nice, but with Asdas product, more comes out. This could be a problem but as it is quite blend able it’s not major. When I had finished taking those photo, the benefit highlighter had dried on my hand and was hard to blend, whereas the Asda highlighter was still creamy and blend able.

Both highlighters blended nicely, I think which one you prefer depends on how much you like to wear. Personally I prefer a brighter highlighter as it shows up better on my pale skin. However, I also sometimes use a powder highlighter. The benefit blends to just a shimmer whereas the Asda highlight still has some coloured pigment in it.

Overall, I think that Asdas highlighter is the best as it is purse friendly, extremely similar to high beam and blends nicely on the skin. The main thing for me was to find a highlighter that looks great for a low price, and I think I’ve found it!

Have you guys got a favourite highlighter?

Have a lovely day!

Wish List | EG

I feel like I haven’t done a wish list in an extremely long time. Considering the amount of time I spend gazing into shop windows or uhm-img and aah-ing over clothes that I can’t afford, a wish list is kind of expected. Today I’ve gathered a few things that I like at the moment ( and might even own hopefully! )

The first thing is this gorgeous playsuit from Missguided. After seeing this on Sarocha B’s channel on YouTube ( which I would definitely recommend because her blog and YouTube are my favourite! ) I fell in love with it! It’s really pretty and would match a lot of things, since it is black and white. I’ve recently bought some adidas superstars which would look really nice with it. For £25 it is a bit pricey but is definately worth it as it is very neutral.

When I went to town the other, I stumbled across this suede bomber jacket from New Look I fell in love. It is quite a light beige, which means it will go with a lot of outfits. It is also a really soft suedette, as real suede would not be £34.99. Although it’s not practical, it is really chic.

Ariana Grande has recently released her Viva Glam collection. There is a ‘good’ and ‘bad’ product. The ‘good’ product is a light pink lipgloss, supposedly showing off your angelic side and the ‘bad’ product is this deep plum colour, made to represent the darker side of yourself. I think this is a really clever idea and represents arianas style chance too. I personally like the lipstick, as I don’t like lipgloss or really pink colours. I’ve never owned a Mac product, but I would love to.

The next thing is this jumper, which I also saw when I saw the jacket. It is a high neck oat coloured jumper. The petite version is down to £14.39 in the sale. It’s so pretty and would look really nice with some jeans and trainers or boots.i think this is my most likely purchase out of my list.

These nails were on Sierra Furtados Instagram. I love Sierras style, and she is one of my favourite youtubers. I’ve never had acrylics before and have been looking for inspiration and these are by far my favourites. As I am going on holiday in a few weeks, I might get acrylics for the first time!

Have any of you guys had acrylics? What’s on your wish list?

Have a lovely day!
