May Favourites | EG

After posting my June wish list last week, I realised that I hadn’t done my May favourites! I know, I’m an awful blogger. This week I’ve decided to share my favourite this month, including clothes, makeup and and other random bits! I’ve started to figure out the kind of look I would like my blog to have, as I have moved away from the more girly, sticker obsessed blogger I once was. I hope you all still enjoy reading my posts, and I would always appreciate recommendations of what you would like to see!

Makeup

Recently I’ve become a bit makeup obsessed. I never use to wear makeup until around Christmas, and then suddenly the majority of my wages have been blown on the newest primer!

These are my favourite pieces from this month that I’ve really enjoyed using.

Face

This past month I’ve loved having a bit of tan for once! I burn almost instantly so fake tan has been a good friend of mine this month. Don’t worry though, I haven’t gone full out orange, just a subtle bronze. The Benefit Hoola Bronzer has been my absolute favourite to bronze up my face with and contour a little. It looks so pretty and is very matte, so it looks really nice with a highlighter.

Another thing that I’ve really enjoyed using is the Freedom Pro Studio Fixing Spray. I couldn’t find the matte one, which is the one I would’ve rather had, yet for £5 I wasn’t going to leave this behind. It is really good actually. It has kind of a nutty smell to it? Maybe that is just me. I honestly think that my makeup stays on so much better, especially since I prefer wearing lighter coverage on my face. I would definately recommend it.

Eyes

I adore the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara, as do countless youtubers and bloggers. It is honestly amazing! I was not one for plastic brushes as I preferred proper bristles, yet after using this I am converted! I got the waterproof one as it holds the curl in your lashes a lot better, however I think I would like to purchase the one with argan oil in as that sounds really good too!

Lips

Recently I have really got into lip products. I was able to pick up this revolution lipstick in ‘looking ahead’ from Superdrug and it is the prettiest pink brown colour. If you read my blog a lot, you’ll know I am a lover of these kinds of colours.

I’m sure everyone knows that nyx is now coming to boots! I squealed when I saw it in my local store. Recently I went back and picked up a Butter Gloss in Praline. It is a lovely light brown colour and feels like velvet on the lips. The colour looks so lovely over the revolution lipstick too!

Clothes

My two favourite clothing items have been my topshop mom jeans and my adidas superstars. Paired together the look so laid back, yet stylish. The trainers are the comfiest shoes I’ve honestly ever owned! Since I’m a 6 I can get the children’s ones, and when you sign up you get 15% off, so these shoes cost just £37.95 with postage! White is great for summer and hopefully they stay this white.

Other favourites

My favourite youtuber this month has been McKenna Kalein. Her channel, Simply_kenna is so full of positivity. Her fashion is lovely and she does such good makeup tutorials. McKenna is a Buddhist, and she teaches about some of her beliefs as well. I really think you guys should check her channel out, but you might become addicted!

Another youtuber that I’ve really enjoyed watching is Gabriella Lindley. I love both of her channels but my favourite recently has been her blogs on Planet Gabb. She hasn’t updated one in a few days and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for it!

My favourite albums this month have been Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande, and Wiped Out by The Neighbourhood. You guys know I am the biggest Ariana grande fan, and when the album was released I fell in love! Right now I’m listening to Let Me Love You. My favourite are Leave Me Lonely and Knew Better/Forever Boy. On The Neighbourhoods new album my favourites are Daddy Issues and Baby Came Home 2/ Valetines. I definately recommend checking these albums out as they are so so good!

June Wishes | EG

Once again, I am still trying to figure out the theme I would like for my blog! I really want to create a look and content that people will enjoy, yet at the moment I feel like I’m just making posts so I can say I’ve written one. This week I’ve gathered a few pieces that I have been looking at for a while, I hope you enjoy this post.

If you have any ideas for posts you would like to see then please leave a comment below.

Yet again, Missguided has my heart. The clothes that they are bringing in are so gorgeous and get prettier every time! This month I’ve been in love with this embroidered playsuit! It’s so gorgeous, yet I have no where to wear it. I think it would be really pretty paired with some lace up flats and tights.
Next is this two tone bomber jacket. I don’t know if you can tell, but I have a thing for jackets this week. A jacket can make or break an outfit, and this one is so gorgeous and neautral; it would pair with so many colours. Missguideds quality of clothing is very high and the pieces I have from there last ages!

The next thing is also a jacket. Oops. However, this jacket is all of my dreams wrapped into one item of clothing. It is the perfect Spring lightweight jacket, even though it’s apparently summer in Britain right now. The detail of the belt and the zips is in silver which is so pretty, and for £40 this is a steal.

Another item that has been on my favourites for a while is this Morphe palette. For £18.25 you get 35 rich pigmented muted pink shades. Some are matte and some are shimmery. This is the perfect palette and has all of the colours you would need! I feel like pinks really bring out green eyes, which is what I have so this palette would be great.

The last wish is this denim jacket. After seeing youtuber and model Sophia Mitchell wearing an oversized denim jacket and velvet choker, I’ve wanted one. I think it is such a cool look and has a really chilled vibe to it. I also have a thing for th trend of lace up chokers, infact anything lace up pretty much has my heart.

Have you guys got any wishes this week? Or have you bought anything that you love? Comment below!

Have a lovely day,

Weekend Haul | EG

Hiya everyone! I’m so sorry that I haven’t blogged for two weeks, but I’ve had a lot of work to do recently, and I’ve finally gotten chance to sit down and write a post for all of you!

This week I’m going to show you what I’ve bought recently, which is quite a lot more than I usually would do as I got paid and thought I’d treat myself ( a lot )

The Shirt Dress.

The first thing I picked up was this gorgeous shirt dress, which was £19.99 from New Look. I’ve been staring at this dress for so long now, and have tried it on atleast three times. This time I tried it on, and new I had to buy it. The pattern is so gorgeous, and as grey is one of my favourite colours to wear I knew I had to get it. It was actually my friend that persuaded me to buy this, as is the case with most of these items.

Cactus.

Today I went into ikea, and as I walked down to the tills, I saw these three cactus sitting together and thought they were so adorable! Yet again, my friend told me to buy them and here I am adoring them. They look so cute all together on my dressing table, and for just £4.50 for all three, you can’t go wrong.

Makeup.

The first makeup piece I bought was the MUA moisturising primer. I have a love for primers, and thought a moisturising one would be so good as a two in one kind of product. The packaging is so simple and looks lovely in my makeup organiser and I can’t wait to use this product and test it out!

The second product I bought was the Freedom Pro Studio fixing spray. Sadly, the matte spray had ran out, which was the one I was looking for. However, at around £5 I thought I might as well try this. My makeup seems to come off easier as I have oily skin, so I thought I would try a fixing spray to see if all of the rave reviews are right.

Have you guys bought anything you love recently?

Are there any blog posts you would like to see?

Have a lovely day,

What’s In My Bag? | EG

When I first started my blog in April last year, What’s In My Bag was one of the first posts I composed. I loved reading these posts, and watching similar videos on YouTube. As its been over a year since I’ve done this post, I thought I’d give you an updated version!

The bag I have is this one from River Island. This is a shoulder bag in a mink colour. It has a mostly faux suede body with a faux leather contrast and the River Island gold bar. It also has pretty tassels hanging off it and a reversible strap, which has a snakeskin pattern on one side and is baby pink on the other. The bag closes with a magnetic presstud and has a zip pocket and normal pocket on the inside. This bag cost £32, which is quite expensive, but when you think of how versatile, and how pretty it is, I can justify it.

The first things that I have in my bag are my purses. Yes that’s plural. I keep my notes and cards in my holographic purse, which is from New Look. I then keep all of my silver change in this coin purse which is also from New Look. I love the holographic purse as its so quirky, yet matches my bag perfectly. The coin purse is also so cute to carry around!

The next things that I have in my bag are my phone, my lipstick and my sunglasses. I use the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipcream  in the colour 07 ‘nude-ist’ which is a pretty red toned pink. When I bought this, I thought it would be more brown toned, but it dried quite red toned. It is a very similar colour to my nyx sleek matte lip cream in ‘Cannes’.

I carry my phone around all of the time, obviously as I never know when I will need to google something, take a photo or contact someone. I have the silver iPhone 6 in 16gb. I got my case from h and m, mostly because it matches all of my clothes.

Even though Britain is infamous for the amount of rain we get, I like to be hopeful and carry my sunglasses with me. You never know when the sun may come out, and I guess carrying these large cat eyes from New Look is helpful ( if a bit optimistic ).

That all I carry in my bag with me! I definately used to carry a lot more. At one time, I actually used to carry an eyeshadow palette with me.

Do you guys have anything you always carry round? Are there any posts you’d like me to do?

What I Bought This Weekend | EG

Once again, here we are. A Sunday evening! How quick are these weeks going? This weekend I’ve been lucky enough to go shopping a couple of times and buy some things that have been on my Wishlist for months.

First up is this top. It’s so pretty! I bought it from new look for only £5 in the sale. I had been looking at this top for a while, and I was so glad when I saw this in the sale! I picked this up in a size 12 even though, usually I’m in a size 8/10 as it does come up pretty small. It has short sleeves and is cropped with sort of frilly edging. Also, I repurchased the Garnier Micellar Water for the third time, as my others have ran out.

The next thing I got is mom jeans! I have been wanting these for so long, but being so tall, they were never in my size. Luckily, I finally managed to get them in my size, on the last chance to buy rack! After seeing these on so many blogs I decided to buy them and I really recommend them! They’re so comfy and the fact that they’re high waisted means that they’ll look really pretty with crop tops in spring and summer.

The next thing I got is this top, which I’m actually wearing right now. At first, I tried it on in the white, with red and navy stripes. I loved it but wasn’t sure whether to buy it, until I found it in the grey! Grey is my favourite colour to wear and this top is so cute and relaxed. I wore it today with my lace halterneck and Jamie jeans with superstars and it looked really relaxed, but still cute.

The last thing is the iPhone 6! I honestly can’t believe I actually own it. My contract was due an upgrade and I was finally able to get the 6! I decided to get it in silver ( mostly so it will match my outfits). I also have this marble case from h and m which was around £5.99.

Have you guys bought anything new this week?

Are there any posts you’d love me to do?

Have a lovely day!

Sleek vs Nyx : Matte Lips | EG

Ever since the Kylie Lip Kits have been released, the popularity of matte lipsticks has exploded. A matte lip is an easy everyday go to and suits everyone. Most colours are a ‘your lips but better’ shade, but some are bright pops of colour! Recently in the Boots near me, a nyx counter opened up. It’s safe to say I ran to it. Yes, I did literally run to the makeup. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’d completely forgotten that nyx was coming to Boots. I managed to get to the counter and pick up a Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes. Also, from the same Boots, I finally managed to get a Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit. This has been crowned as one of the best dupes for Kylie Jenners ‘ dolce k ‘.

Today I have a review for you guys! I’ve decided to give you the lowdown on two of the biggest dupes of the moment.

First off is the packaging. I think that the nyx packaging is really cute. That’s a strange way to describe it but I just think that the shape and materials used work so well together. I love the little heart on it to. The Sleek packaging is a lot easier when taking photos, as the nyx lip cream rolls everywhere! ( not good for someone who needs a neat Instagram theme ) . The packaging is quite similar in colouring, apart from with the Sleek product, you can see the lip cream whereas the nyx bottle is the colour that is inside.

Next is the applicators. Both are a fluffy sponge and very soft. However, the Sleek applicator is a lot longer and thinner, which can be hard when applying the product in the lips as it can be messy. However, you can use the tip to get a precise line. The nyx applicator is much like any other lip applicator. It is short and easy to control, and covers my lips in a few swipes.

Obviously, the part you’ve all been waiting for: swatches. These colours look so similar from the packaging, yet are actually very different. The nyx lip cream is a lot more red-toned meaning it dries as more of a red-pink colour. On the other hand, the Sleek lip cream is more cool toned, and dries as a lovely mauve colour.

As you can see the Sleek lip cream dries a lot darker than the nyx one. It also clings to every line on my skin, and it also does this with your lips, so be sure to exfoliate them before!

The consistency of the nyx lip cream is a lot more moisturising than the Sleek lip cream. Although I do still apply lip balm before, it comes out a lot creamier, whereas the Sleek lip cream is quite thin, although extremely pigmented. Also, another nice thing about the nyx lip cream is that it smells of vanilla! This is one of my favourite scents so this is definately a positive for me!

The price of the Sleek lip cream is £4.99, which is extremely good for what you get. The sleek lip cream lasts all day! I’ve been wearing it today and I put it on around 11:30, went to the park and had an ice cream, then came back and had dinner and it is still on! For £4.99 you can’t miss out!

The price of the nyx lip cream is £5.50 which is also really affordable. The range of colours is a lot wider from nyx, and they go from pinks to reds to purples! I am yet to wear it for a whole day, but I will definately report back when I do!

Which lip cream is your favourite? Do you have any favourite brands?

March Beauty Favourites | EG

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening everyone! First of all, I’d like to apolgise for not posting for two weeks. I’ve been away on holiday and took a complete break from everything. Now I’m back and ready to blog again!

I will post again during midweek to make up for lost posts! This week I have my March beauty favourites for you guys, and March was a good month for me!

The first thing I’ve been loving is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I’ve only bought this recently but it has completely replaced my rimmel one. This mascara gives serious volume and lift, especially for me, someone who has to curl their lashes before and after mascara and they still drop! This has a curved wand which means it grabs everyone lash and gives it a lovely coat of mascara. It is build able and not excessive spider leg looking, which I’m sure we all want to avoid!

The second thing is the Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit. I’ve been in so many boots stores desperately looking for a sleek counter, and when I found this, it was the last one! I picked this up on the basis of a beauty rumour I heard that it is a dupe for Dolce K by Kylie Jenner. I heard this from Mostly Meg on YouTube, and her channel is amazing, you should definately check her out! I bought this for around £4.99 and it lasts all day even through eating! I actually wore this when I went on a 12 mile bike ride and it lasted from 11:30am to around 5pm ( even with eating and cycling! )

Every blogger knows about Micellar Cleansing Water. This is so good for taking makeup off and literally gets every last bit off my skin. I bought a travel one for my holiday and it was the perfect size to pop in my bag. I actually own the biggest one too which I have nearly finished as I use it every day. It leaves my skin feeling clean and I like that it has no scent of colour because it makes it feel easier to use.

I showed this primer in my latest haul post and it is now my favourite! I would really recommend this as my makeup stays on all day, with no sign of redness! I recently went to my second Vamps concert ( it was the best night of my life ever )  and I was standing, where it obviously gets really hot. I asked my friend if I looked red and she said I was fine! If that isn’t enough to convince you, I don’t know what is. I personally have quite red, uneven skin and this primer really helps that.

The last thing, which is basically featured in every post is the Barry M Natural Glow Palette 2. This is honestly my favourite eyeshadow palette as it has a variety of colours including matte and shimmer shades. I actually use the shimmer shade as a highlighter and I’ve been complimented on it many times. It works really well as it is buildable and blend able.

What have been your guys favourite things this month? Are there any products you’d recommend?

Also do you have any posts you would like me to do?

Have a lovely day!

Wish List | EG

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have a lovely day! Today I have my wish list for you, which I’m excited to show you because there are some really lovely things in there.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Palette

First of all, I saw this gorgeous eyeshadow palette from tarte. I’m not sure where I first saw this palette, but when I did I fell in love with it. The colours are really versatile and there are so many you could match together. The price of this palette depends on where you buy it from. On QVC it is around £32.

Topshop Moto Cord Jacket

This jacket is gorgeous! It’s a champagne kind of colour, which is good because it’s neautral and would go with so many outfits. This is actually in the sale for £10!! Yes that is true! Sadly, this is out of stock so I’m scouring the Internet to find one!

Topshop Mom Jeans

When I went to Outfit recently I tried these jeans on and they were so comfortable and flattering. They are meant to be cropped, so I would get them in a longer length. Usually I would be leg 34, but I would get leg 36 so they would be longer. These jeans would be great for summer because they are not super tight, and would look great with a cropped top or a halterneck.

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Chihuahua

This lipstick is so pretty! I’ve seen these floating around Instagram so many times and I love this shade. It is a pinky brown colour and would look great with a neutral eyeshadow. For £16, I do think you’re getting a good product and I think it is a reasonable price for a too faced product, especially one with such great reviews.

Have you guys got any wishes?

Have a lovely day! ( and Easter! )

My Three Favourite Palettes | EG

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely day! Recently, I’ve realised that I’ve been doi a lot of posts about makeup, and now I have another one! This week, I’m going to show you my three favourite drugstore eyeshadow palettes. All of these are great for everyday use, or even for going out.

My first favourite is the Ted Baker Rose Gold Trio. This came in a gift set at Christmas so the only place I can find it is on eBay. There are many people selling these, mostly because they were exclusive to this set.

This trio is absolutely gorgeous! It includes three shades, which don’t have names, but I would say they are all kind of a sunset colour. They aren’t matte, but they don’t have that super glittery look, making them very subtle. These are the most pigmented eye shadows I own. They blend really nice, especially with other matte shades.

My favourite thing about this trio is the packaging. I mean look at it! Rose gold, a bloggers dream. It also has a big mirror on the lid, which is really useful for on the go. The packaging is metal, which is really sturdy and great to put in your bag.

My next favourite is the W7 In The Nude palette. During December last year, I went to the clothes show, and all of the w7’s products were 3 for £10. I was luckily enough to pick up this palette, In The Buff and The Cheeky Trio. I love the packaging of this as it is durable and very neautral.

My favourite shades are the matte ones, especially since having green eyes, pink makes them really stand out. I find that the shadows aren’t very pigmented, but are quite build able. Also, this palette is a dupe for the Naked 3 palette!

This is my favourite eyeshadow palette. This is the Barry M Natural Glow Palette 2. It has 6 shadows and a primer. The primer, I have to admit, is terrible. It’s flakey and doesn’t blend at all. But the rest of the palette, oh my gosh! The colours are so pretty and blend able. I use the shimmery colour as a highlight on my cheekbones and have had so many compliments. I love to use the third shade and blend it with the grey. Then I use the lightest colour to define my brows. This palette is very versatile, and extremely affordable.

I really enjoy using Barry Ms products because they are cruelty free. Many brands aren’t, and I’m really trying to use cruelty free brands as I don’t see any need for animal testing.

This palette is very compact and also has a mirror on the lid. This would also be great for travelling and topping up either your highlight, eyeshadow or defining your brows.

Have you guys got a favourite palette?

Have a lovely day!

Haul | EG

Over the past few weeks,I have spent alot of money. I did earn it all myself, so is there really any problem? Personally, I love shopping and looking at the newest things in, whether it be makeup, home or clothes.
Here’s a few of the things I’ve purchased over the last few weeks.

First, I’ve got to start off with my favourite purchase. I’ve been looking at Real Techniques brushes ever since I’ve got in to makeup. Most people dream of having five, and luckily I was able to get my hands on the deluxe gift set. I purchased this from tk maxx, which I actually think is my new favourite shop. These cost me just £20.99!  One of these brushes usually sells for around £15-25, so I knew I had to get these when I saw them. My favourite brush is the tapered foundation brush. I also really enjoy using the angled highlighter brush.

Another beauty item that I bought is the Barry M Flawless Colour Correctiong Primer. This is my dream primer. It claims to correct redness, smooth and mattify skin and minimise pores. I can tell you that it does all of this! I used it today and my skin had no redness and my makeup stayed matte all day. This cost me £4.99 ( I think ) and was buy one get one half price, so I also picked up a nail varnish.

The next thing I purchased was from Primark. Since its started to become sunnier I decided I would buy some more Spring tops. I picked this up for around £6 and it is a knitted tank top. It has a high square neck with thin straps and is kind of ribbed. The pattern is really pretty and the burgundy colour look great with a denim skirt or shorts.

The next thing I am extremely excited about. I think most people have heard of Brandy Melville. They sell the kind of clothes you would see on tumblr or on a polyvore board. These knitted tops from Primark are dupes for the Brandy ones and were only £6 each? I got a white and a dark grey, but they also had a striped one. These are really cute and would look great with some shorts. They are thick knitted, which means they will still keep you warm even though they are sleeveless.

Have you guys bought anything you love recently?

Have a lovely day!
